In our final session of the year, Cadence Okuwobi and pianist Jordan Pollard will teach students what professionalism looks like in a jazz setting and strategies for getting their own gigs. The session will start with an overview of the importance of professionalism before showing examples of what professionalism looks like at rehearsals, masterclasses, and gigs. After this, students will learn ways to get more involved in the Cincinnati scene and why it’s so important to attend shows and interact with local musicians. The rest of the session will focus on helping students write their first booking email!
