This session, co-taught by Cadence Okuwobi and trumpeter Eric Lechliter, provides students with everything they need to start effective practice and establish a routine that works for them. Cadence and Mr. Lechliter will start by reviewing general philosophies for practice, including SMART goal setting and 3 Practice Aspects. They will then take a deep dive into practice musts like technique, sight-reading, and rep with suggestions on how to see consistent improvement in those areas, before closing with their favorite practice apps for Androids and iPhones. As always, the session is in an activity-based lecture format, and for this month, activities will focus on student goal setting and routine writing. There will be a Q&A time at the end, and as an exciting incentive, there will be two book giveaways at the session!
