Welcome to Beyond the Notes
Beyond the Notes Workshop is a free, six-session series dedicated to teaching essential skills and information for starting a career in jazz. All of our sessions are 90-minutes and located at the Kennedy Heights Arts Center Annex in partnership with the Cincinnati Jazz Academy.
At each of our workshops, a local professional, along with high school student Cadence Okuwobi, will co-teach in an activity-based lecture format. We provide engaging slides and hand-outs to go along with each session and ample time for Q&A! Attending a session also comes with the opportunity to win music book giveaways and a jazz summer camp scholarship.
